"BVB"s are Bible Verses That Seem To Be Avoided or Quickly

Skimmed Over By Most Pastors and Theologians.

There are many passages that declare ALL will be saved. However, we have somehow been taught that this can't be true. Yet, these verses are quite clear.

We'd Encourage You To Read Them For Yourself

Our contention is this: The "proof texts" that seem to say God will send people to eternal torment are the very passages in need of closer study. While most of the "BVB"s are crystal clear, straightforward, unambiguous, and comprehensive. In Contrast, the verses that seem to say God sends people to eternal torment fall into the category of symbolism  allegory, imagery and in most cases directed at an antiquated audience - not us. Most of Jesus' warnings are aimed directly at the Jews of that day and these warnings were fulfilled between 67 - 70 AD.

(NOTE: The word "hell" and the idea of "hell" does not exist in the Hebrew or Greek scriptures. In fact, many of the most recent Bible translations have removed the word hell. The earliest use of hel or hell in the 7th century meant: A place of protection.)

I Timothy 1:15, 16

I Timothy 1:15, 16

"This is a trustworthy saying and worthy of acceptance: 'Yeshua The Messiah came to the universe to save sinners of whom I am foremost' But because of this He showed me mercy, that Yeshua The Messiah might show in me first all His patience, as the example of THOSE WHO ARE GOING TO BELIEVE in Him unto eternal life." [The Apostle Paul was unwillingly brought to repent. Who's to say that lesser sinners would not be brought to repentance at resurrection?] Aramaic Bible

Romans 3:23 - 26

Romans 3:23 - 26

"For all did sin, and are come short of the glory of God - being declared righteous freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." [Who are we to say that God does not declare or impute righteousness to everyone in His own timing? When ALL will see Jesus and God's mercy. The mercy in which He delights?]

1 Peter 3:18-20

1 Peter 3:18-20

"Because The Messiah also died once for sake of our sins, The Righteous One in the place of sinners, to bring YOU to God, and He died in body and lived in His Spirit. And He preached to those souls who were held in Sheol, these who from the first were not convinced in the days of Noah when the long-suffering of God commanded that there would be an ark, upon the hope of their repentance, and only eight souls entered it and were kept alive by water." [Why would Jesus preach to those in the Sheol?]

1 Peter 4:6

1 Peter 4:6

"For this is why the Good News was preached to those who were dead, that though judged in the flesh the way people are, they might live in the spirit the way God does."

Ephesians 3:12

Ephesians 3:12

"Because of Christ, AND OUR FAITH IN HIM, we can now come boldly and confidently into God's presence." [Perhaps Paul is distinguishing "faith" as our ability to appreciate God's mercy - not trigger His mercy. His mercy is everlasting. Maybe this confidence will come after the grave for most. Either way, the resurrection of the unjust is clear.]

Matthew 12:40

Matthew 12:40

"For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." [Sheol, Hades, place of the dead.]

Ephesians 4:7-10

Ephesians 4:7-10

"But to each one of us grace is given according to the size of the gift of The Messiah. Therefore it is said, 'He ascended to the heights and took captivity prisoner and He has given gifts to the children of men.' But that He ascended, what is it but that also He first descended to the lower regions of The Earth? He who descended is the same who also ascended higher than all Heavens, to restore ALL." [Aramaic Bible]

Isaiah 29:18

Isaiah 29:18

"In that day, the deaf will hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind will see out of obscurity and out of darkness." [Could this be the lost who are resurrected?]

Deuteronomy 29:4

Deuteronomy 29:4

"And Jehovah has not given to you a heart to know, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, until this day." [God sovereignly opens eyes to see in His own time.]

Matthew 13:13

Matthew 13:13

"This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand." [God reveals Himself and opens eyes and hearts in His own timing. Who are we to say this has to be before the grave?]

Matthew 13:10, 11, 13

Matthew 13:10, 11, 13

"The disciples came to Jesus and asked, 'Why do you speak to the people in parables?' He replied, 'Because the knowledge of the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven has been given to you, but not to them. This is why I speak to them in parables: Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.'"

Colossians 1:27

Colossians 1:27

"To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." [Perhaps some are chosen before the grave, while ALL the others are redeemed at resurrection? If the "ALL" scriptures are true, then this makes sense. Either way, God is sovereign and revealing Himself in His own timing.]

Psalm 66:4

Psalm 66:4

"ALL the earth will worship You, and will sing praises to You; They will sing praises to Your name." [How can this be true if most people are burning in hell?]

John 10:16

John 10:16

"And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one Shepherd." [1 Timothy 4:10 - "ALL"] Also Isaiah 56:8

Most commentaries will acknowlege that

passages such as Romans 5:18, 11:32,

I Corinthians 15:22, I Timothy 4:10, etc.

(most of the BVB's)

do seem to teach Christian Universalism.

However, it is often said that these verses

can not mean what they seem to be saying

because of the broader context of scripture.

The "broader context of scripture"

is simply a way of saying:

"These verses don't agree with our view."

Broader context of scripture does sound better

than an admission that they simply

don't like the implications.
